Encova Insurance was formed through the merger of BrickStreet and Motorists Insurance. BrickStreet was a long-term client that tasked our team with renaming and rebranding the company to reflect its new mission.

Taking inspiration from both brands, we created a brand that honors the legacy while forging something new. Working closely with both companies, we created a logo with a bold and simple design. We also developed a clean typography system, a vibrant color palette, and a campaign creative launch to introduce Encova to the world.

The design system is centered around the concept of encircling or infinite coverage, providing comprehensive protection. The layered circles were inspired by the pottery technique of sgraffito, where clay is scratched to create a design. The word "sgraffito" derives from Italian, meaning "to scratch."
